Recycling

The library supports recycling, and to help out we offer three ways for the community to recycle when they visit the library and Maplewood Center.

USED BATTERIES

You can drop off used Alkaline and Carbon Zinc batteries at the library, into the recycle bin located inside the front entrance foyer.
Description: Small dry-cell batteries, sealed, non-rechargeable, Carbon Zinc batteries are labeled general purpose or heavy duty.
Formats: AA, AAA, D-cell, C-cell, 9-volt, button cells

PAPER PRODUCTS

The library has partnered with Paper Retriever Recycling to collect unwanted and used paper. The library will receive a monetary amount in return for tons collected which will go toward supporting children’s programs at the library. The recycle bin is located in the parking lot area next to the library.Find a list of acceptable items (No Cardboard Please)

EMPTY INK & TONER CARTRIDGES

Garden City Public Library is now accepting used printer cartridges for recycling. We will accept all shapes, sizes and brands. Please place used cartridges in the box located inside the library near the front door. If you have any questions, please ask at the front desk.
